Day 8

My gosh I need to find more stuff to do.  Today (okay, before my trip to the arcade) was overall rather boring, as I: 1) went to class, 2) went home, 3) did homework, 4) purchased some food for snacking and small meals (though not necessarily all in that order).  Also, it's rather difficult to even find anything you're looking for in the supermarket.  Especially tomato sauce.  However, even after buying all of that, I still went back and had pizza for dinner, because that pizza from Pizza-la was damned tasty.

So, like I said, I went to the arcade.  Yay.  I was probably the only one in the group with a sole purpose for going, namely to play DDR.  Plenty of DDR.  As I walked in, I had to sit through a short session about how the payment system works at the arcade - you wear this card around your neck, and then swipe it at each game.  Afterwards, you swipe the card at the check-out, pay for your games, and then leave.  Pretty cool, but I'm sure people can get carried away with that.

The few times (okay, once) I played a game that wasn't DDR, it was still a game made by Konami, namely Beatmania IIDX: Troopers.  Not having played it before, it was fairly difficult, having to manipulate 9 buttons and a turntable for a song that you can barely hear (at least, not over the sounds of the nearby Konami arcade machines).  The songs played include Xepher, V (the first movement of Winter from the 4 seasons), and something else I can't remember.

But how could I have possibly skirted around this issue for any longer - DDR!  I was absolutely ecstatic to discover that this arcade actually had DDR SuperNova 2, and even with all of the songs unlocked.  It was evident that this cabinet had received a fair amount of use.  That should have led me to the conclusion that the pads wouldn't be in the best condition, which they of course weren't.  Heck, I failed roughly 5 songs in a row due to faulty pads (seriously, this was on songs that I've AA'd before on a SuperNova 1 cabinet).  Though, it was overall enjoyable.  I'd type more about it, but that'd just be rambling, but just a few points: I did play against this one Japanese dude and lost to him (by VERY LITTLE, mind you); I finally got to play Pluto (and most of "the planet songs"); I am now registered on e-Amuse, which is the world-wide score ranking and community, so I need to find more locations of SN2 cabinets with e-Amuse.

Here's your image and text.

The song being played here is Pluto, from the new "planet song" series.  The chart is a mix between CHAOS and bag/Fascination Maxx, in that it has multiple stops that are next to impossible to guess, a very slow scrolling speed at the beginning, and fluctuates often in the middle between one certain speed, and .5x or 2x that speed.  This is me playing against some Japanese dude who called himself (on his e-Amuse profile) H.  He's on Heavy, I'm on difficult (because I still suck at this game).
